I decided to lose 60 lbs in 2010. I started at 217.0 pounds on the morning of January 1st. Today is January 23. My weight yesterday, the first day of week 4, was 210.4.
I started out restricting carbs, and at the suggestion of my doctor, emailing pictures of what I was eating to some of my family. I tried low carb for week three, because I only lost 2/10 of a pound during week 2. After one week of low carb and several pig outs, I gained 2/10 of a pound during week 3.
I pigged out again last night on snacks. Already today I have eaten food I did not plan to eat.
I need to get back in the "zone" as my daughter puts it. She is trying to get back in the zone. Last year she lost 60 pounds but gained 10 over the holidays.
It seems you can't choose to be in the zone. It just happens for some reason. Then for some reason you are no longer in the zone, and can't get back in the zone. Can anyone explain this?
Lessons I have learned so far:
1) one snack leads to another
2) you cannot overeat and lose weight
3) if yummy food is there, it is hard not to eat it
